Discount codes

With a discount code you give a particular group of drivers, your staff or the members of a club for example, a discount per kWh at your charge point. The driver enters the code on the QR page before starting their session.

#Activating discount codes on a charge site

1. Open Charge sites, choose your charge site and click edit.
2. Switch on Accept discount codes and save.

From then on discount codes apply to all charge points of that charge site. You create your own codes for each charge site; the same code on two charge sites means two separate codes.

#Creating codes

On the same page you find the Discount codes section with the existing codes. Create a new code with:

• the charge site, already filled in;
• the code itself: unique, preferably a combination of letters and digits. With the Generate button you create a code that is hard to guess;
• the discount amount per kWh, in euro.

Pass the code on to the drivers it is meant for.

#How the discount is settled

The discount comes off your payout, not off the price the driver pays. An example: your kWh tariff is 0.50 euro excluding VAT and the code gives a 0.05 euro discount. The driver pays the normal price of the charge point; you receive 0.45 euro per kWh. The code is therefore a way to finance a discount without changing the price at the charge point.

#Who can use a code

Only drivers who charge and pay through the QR code can enter a code. Drivers with a Wattify charge card or an external charge card (roaming) cannot; for regular users with a charge card you set a preferential tariff, see Linking charge cards and giving a preferential tariff.

The code has to be filled in before the session starts. Once the session is running, nothing can be changed any more; someone who forgets their code does not get the discount afterwards. See also Charging with the QR code on the charge point.
